Will skin grow back? I have a scab from a second degree burn and underneath it is pink skin.?

You have new skin! Congrats. Take care of it and it will be healthy. It may be a different color now, but will eventually turn into the same color. Keep it hydrated and protect it from burns - including sun damage. Your weakness for skin cancer is higher now. Better cover up.

I do believe that is called a scar
Reply:I had a really bad second degree burn on my foot when I was younger. I remember having a nice scar there. Eventually as I grew older the scar disappeared and it looks normail.. Don't ask. Maybe I'm some sort of genetic freak. I got it went i was around 12 or 13, i remember when I hit 21 it was gone, scar and all.
Reply:Our skin is an amazing thing. It is actually considered the body's largest organ. all cells re-grow - even brain cells - although their regrowth is slow. Skin from cadavers (dead bodies) is used to help severe burns heal. Your skin can even be grown in a petri dish to become sheets used for grafts on severe burns.
Reply:yes it will take a while but it will.
Reply:Yes it will... However, it's very sensitive to light, so it will tan first when exposed, and will tan darker than the rest of your skin... So as soon as you see pink, put some sunblock lotion on it, the highest SPF available. You'll be happy you did. If possible, put clothing on that area.
Reply:Yes
Reply:Skin cells regenerate every 12 to 14 days that is depending on the amount of glyconutrients in your system
Reply:Don't pick your scab,,,your gonna make it infectious. Let it be and heal. Your skin will eventually turn back to normal, but if your Black...enjoy the Michael Jackson look/
Reply:The skin underneath you see that is pink is the new skin coming in. leave it alone and it will do just fine.
Reply:I think it will.
Reply:yes that is new skin we have like so many layers of skin i believe its 3 layers of skin before it gets to out fatty cells then to vains then to bone. ok so yes skin grows back.. good luck /.

How much heat is needed to give a second degree burn how long does the skin need to be in contact?

There isn't really a definite answer related to temperature for partial thickness burns. The depth and severity of the burn, in this case the partial thickness or 2nd degree burn, is dependent on both the temperature and the time exposed to the heat source. The longer the exposure, the lower the temperature required to create a partial thickness burn. On the other hand, the higher the temperature, the shorter the exposure is necessary to create the partial thickness burn.

Not sure of the answer to either one but if the skin blisters, it is at least a second degree burn. That can happen by just touching a pan right out of the oven for 5 seconds.
Reply:A lot of sunburns can range from 1st to 2nd degree. The longer the exposure to the sun, more likely the chance of 2nd degree. Plus it also depends on the color/pigmentation of a persons' skin, time of year and how often and how long the person has been exposed to the sun. With any other type of burning agent, long enough to cause blisters to form on the skin.
Reply:Not a question of heat as in temperature but about how much damage it does - usually as a result of how intense and localized the injury is - for instance steam can burn you in mere seconds while could take hours to get a bad sunburn which could also be "2nd degree" but because the sunburn is a larger area it might be considered more severe

Skin gets itchy all over body on second day of period. Not pregnant. Anyone know what it is? No visible rash

I scratched myself raw in several places in my sleep. It is never the same spot that itches.

Hormones do all kind of strange things. If this problem is limited to one day a month, I would take Benadryl, an over-the-counter antihistamine to deal with the itch. It is important that you don't scratch: it may leave scars and/or it may lead to a skin infection.

You could also try a serum with sea kelp bioferment for the itch.

Good luck and all the best

Reply:could it be low iron or dehydration? I used to get that sometimes-(no, your not crazy :) ). swimming (with a tampon) or soaking in a bath of plain water for 1 hour and taking a low dose of gentle iron (About 25 elemental mg) might help.

if you drink a lot of green, black, red or white teas, they take the iron out of your system and you need to replenish every now and then--you'll notice you get verrryyyy tired and lethargic.

a couple symptomatic treatments are:

1) to take a sublingual b complex: I like "Coenzymate B Complex" peppermint flavor, (orange is yucky!) This settles the nerve endings really well and as a bonus it de-stresses you!-the cheapest I've found it is at http://www.vitaminshoppe.com, but it can take 10 to 15 days to get it.

2) to take "natural calm", I buy it at the same place. It settles things too but can also really relax your muscles so don't operate any heavy equipment.

calm the nerves=less or no itching!

both are completely natural and your body flushes out what you don't use. But the 'natural calm' is magnesium and will flush out your bowels as well.

you also might check with your doctor to see if your allergic to anything your using. hope it helps!

***I see that you've added some info: it honestly sounds like a reaction of some kind. A comprehensive allergist (a good one) should be able to help. meantime: wash the area with soap and water, then dab on some 2% milk. It should give you some temporary relief--but you might have to do it a couple of times during the night. This should provide you with some relief and the Benadril answer should help as well.***
Reply:hormonal inbalance or somthing

Reply:Do not irritate the skin, and do not put sun screen on it. See a doctor immediately for medical attention %26amp; prescription skin ointment.

Skin blisters that peel and are very painful. Have come back for the second time. Not spider bites.?

We thought my brother got bit by a brown recluse on his lip and between his fingers a few months ago. Its back now but, between his toes and on his hands along with the original areas. The skin blisters and peels. It is very painful and seems to kill the flesh and spread. The day before he had a horrible migraine and woke up the next morning with the skin red and irritated. It itched so, he scratced and the skin peeled off. He is very worried because the doctors told him they don't know what it is and to take pictures as it worsens. Any ideas of what this could be?

How old is he? Guess it doesn't really matter... have you tried searching the internet?
Reply:Steven Johnson Syndrome?
Reply:Go see another doctor. The brown recluse is poisonous, and he needs proper treatment.
Reply:First, what state do you live in? Brown Recluses do not live everywhere and if you live in a region where they aren't found, you can scratch that off your list. It sounds like he really needs to see another doctor. Perhaps see an allergy specialist. It does sound rather rare. Please provide more info and I'll look into it.
Reply:Probably some kind of infection. Staph infections are often associated with spider bites, especialy if you scratch them.

It is normal. Evidently pigment gets confused during pregnancy. It happens to alot of people. I still have some and my daughter is 29. She has them also from her pregnancies. Mine is on my face and it moves around sometimes. Weird. It may go away or it may not. I know that isn't what you want to hear. You can get skin bleaching products at a beauty supply house or a higher end retail store that sells cosmetics. Good luck to you and don't worry, children change all of us in some way or another.

Can one second degree sunburn on my whole upper body cause skin cancer?

i have a bad sunburn on my whole upper body, back, and stomach, cause skin cancer?

Can one second degree sunburn on my whole upper body cause skin cancer?
not a one time exposure, but repeated exposure to sun in fair skinned people is a known risk factor for skin cancer, good luck
