Are you ever prejudiced based on the color of someones skin or their race??

just curious. i love this show Without Prejudice and i was just like wow okay a question! so if you see a black person do you make any judgments based SOLELY on the fact that they're black? white ppl? and so on...or if you meet a black, asian, or hispanic person do you judge them based on whether or not they are dark/light skinned with ethnic/non ethnic features??

personally i think people who do this are extremely ignorant but you know thats just me. maybe because ive been exposed to diverse environments and different cultures its never been second nature to judge based on skin tone. i choose to judge based on character and behavior. im black too so i wouldnt want anyone judging me like that even though im sure they do.

Are you ever prejudiced based on the color of someones skin or their race??
Yes, nobody is ever 100% racism free. The only way that it's possible to be 100% non-racist is to look at %26amp; judge everyone as an individual. But a lot of people look at other people as members of a racial/ethnic group.
Reply:i hate nigs, they look like dog feces
Reply:no.
Reply:Let's keep it real, okay? Prejudice means to "prejudge." Yes, unfortunately, I find myself doing just that. I try not to do that and am not proud of the fact, but frankly, I sometimes catch myself doing it.

I'm sure you are a lovely person, but I don't believe for a minute that you never prejudge people, whether it be skin color, nationality, height, weight, whatever. We all have a propensity to label a person based upon our life experiences.

Here's an example. I am white, female, blonde, tall, 44 years old, and upper middle class. What kind of music do you think I like? What type of car would I drive? What is my level of higher education? Don't ponder it; just think of your instinctive reaction, based upon your life experience with someone like me.

Whatever answers you came up with are a result of prejudging. It is not ignorance per se; it is a human condition and we all suffer from it. The key is to recognize that fact. It is only in doing so that we can make progress into overcoming it.

Peace.
Reply:Forgive them for they have never walked a mile in your shoes, probably never walked a mile in their own. Those are the type of people that I am prejudiced against, for they were brainwashed from birth to look upon people who are different them as them as being lower then animals. AND have never rose above it to have a thought of their own since.
Reply:no......i don't judge people like that.
Reply:every one judges to a certain extent. when you meet someone on a street , at a bus stop, coffee shop, or a store you have a first impression whether or not to trust that person. thats pre judging!

To answer your Q whether I am ever prejudiced by the color of ones skin, no. Just the way I see a person act or talk would let me know if they deserve respect. Not by skin color at all!
