Oily Skin, HELP!?!?!?

I am a redhead and have very fair, moderately sensitive skin that is SO oily!! I currently use St.Yves Oil-Free Blackhead Removing Facial Scrub, every morning (or every second morning). I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Moisturizer w/ spf15 every day.

When I do wear makeup all I use is foundation, shadow, eyeliner, blush and mascara. I wear my makeup very lightly and do not cake it on. At night I just wash any makeup off with soap.

I can't use a toner as it really bothers my skin. I need something that works for blackheads too because I feel like mine are SO noticeable!! I dont get pimples/zits very often, but if I do I tend to get like 2 or 3 at a time.

Since the birth of my 3rd child my skin is really really oily and I don't want to spend alot of money on a bunch of diff products. I just want something for oily skin and blackheads that WORKS!!

Any suggestions?

Oily Skin, HELP!?!?!?
I have worked in the skincare area for 10 years or so, in various stores, spas etc. The best product for sensitive skin that is oily is a toss up between La Roche Posey or Avene - both sold at Shoppers or better Drug stores. I personally really like the Avene products as they are not chemical laden and are made from spring water. Ask a senior cosmetics manager at a Shoppers about it - works really well for unbalanced skin. It is not great to constantly be exfoliliating your skin as it needs time to regenerate itself. ( St.Ives is not great stuff for your face - my opinion only...) Best bet is to always ask for sample sizes or keep reciepts for things so you don't end up with a "cosmetic graveyard" I like to say.

Reply:you need to go get a facial.

If you go to a beauty school they usually charge around $15-30 and they do it for about an hour.
Reply:St. Ives Apricot Scrub

u have to drink as much water as u can so that ur excess oils gets out in the form of sweat.

Reply:I have super super oily skin- I have to wash my face about 2 times a day in order to keep it under control... so trust me, I know what you are going through.

I use the tea tree oil products at the body shop- the stuff lasts a long time, and also prevents zits/blackheads. They have it in a scrub, toner (although I know you said toner doesn't work, just gotta mention it! ;) ), stick, conseallor (sp?), blot papers... it's a good line! Plus no animal testing and all that great stuff.

It's worth the investment. I only use the scrub and the "spot stick" for when I get zits. It's all you really need! The conseallor is good for when you are going out and want to cover up blackheads/zits... you cover it and you treat it at the same time!

Hope this helps!
Reply:You shouldn't be using an exfoliator that often. You are just asking your skin to produce more oil that way! Use a skin bar for sensitive skin and blot your face with oil-reducing sheets (clean and clear and nuetrogena have them at your local drugstore).

I recommend Breezy Beach Wear's All-natural Oatmeal Sugar Cookie bath bar. It is made with natural oatmeal, vanilla extract, raw sugar and olive oil. It is perfect for the face as it doesn't irritate and is perfect for sensitive skin.

Reply:stop using soap! soap is drying your skin out too much, so your skin compensates by producing more oil. do not scrub your face too much too... the extra blood circulation is not doing any good to your face. if you must scrub everyday, do it lightly.

a sure work is roaccutane. it works by regulating your oil glands, and improves acne and other skin conditions. however, if you're planning to get pregnant again, or breastfeeding, roaccutane is not recommended. roac is only available by prescription
