Can you stop a sterling silver ring from turning your skin green?

I bought a sterling silver ring about 2 weeks ago. Ever since like the second or third day, the skin under it has been green, and white in one spot. Now i thought that only happened with fake gold, but i guess not. Anyway, i know its just some kind of reaction btween the metal and the skin, but is there some way to stop it from doing that? I doubt there's any serious problems with it turning my skin colors (i hope), but who wants a green finger? I'd hate to have to stop wearing it, so any help would be appreciated.

Reply:nope it's your skin's reaction to that type of metal ...
Reply:Are you sure its pure silver? It happens to me when i wear costume jewellry.Usually happens when ur fingers get sweaty or wet, sometimes it itches too.Only way to tell if ur ring is silver is by lookin on d inside to c if it has a "stamp".If it doesnt itz most prolly a fake? U can try applyin powder to ur finger b4 wearing but i wudnt recommend wearing somethin that wud make u have the "incredible hulk" green effect.Good Luck tho :o)
Reply:this type of reaction SHOULD NOT happen with Sterling Silver.

you probably should consult a dermatologist.
