Why do skin CELLS reproduce faster than other types of cells ?

Well my question above pretty much says it all. Also here's my second question:

Why Do you think skin cells divide faster than muscle cells ?? Please only give real full explained answers. Thanks.

Also anybody who answers my 2 questions correctly %26amp; explained will be awarded with 10 points %26amp; As chosed as best Answer.

Why do skin CELLS reproduce faster than other types of cells ?
Well, the rate of replacement of skin cells is higher than for any other cells in the body. Therefore, the rate of reproduction (the production side of the equation) has to be higher. Every time you take a shower you take of a layer of dead skin cells of you. Now, that fact that you take that layer off may contribute to the increased rate of skin cell division, but it is not the ultimate cause. The ultimate cause is the skin cell type itself. Because skin is our outer protective layer, skin cells must have evolved to replace themselves rapidly so as to defend very promptly the body against wounding and infection.

Muscle cells do not need that much replacement. Notice that even when you "grow" muscle (as in bodybuilding) you do not actually increase the number of muscle cells that you have but rather you increase their size.
Reply:skin cells are unipotent. skin cells are linked to a stem cell that can only differentiate into a specific type of skin cell or tissue. skin cells benefit from the environment-absorption of UV rays
